May 12 Tragedy Museum Participates in “Museum Management Capacity Knowledge Exchange” Program
May 12 Tragedy Museum, Universitas Trisakti has long been known as a reminder of one historical moment in Indonesia. The commitment of this museum is not only to keep the history but also to improve the service and quality of human resources. It is shown with the participation of the May 12 Tragedy Museum in the Museum Management Capacity Knowledge Exchange Programme.
This activity was started from October 16 to October 20, 2023, and organized by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Regional Cooperation Bureau and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Culture Service. This collaboration also involves the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Reinwardt Academy, and Amsterdam University of Arts.
Different from the usual training, the Museum Management Capacity Knowledge Exchange Program trained the participant to be active and innovative in building their respective museum roadmap.
There are 30 participants from respective government and private museums who participate in this program. The teachers who took part in this activity were experts in their fields. Mrs. Marjan Otter, Mrs. Kathy Marchand, and Mr. Bart Boskaljon gave insight into Strategic Museum Management Training. They helped all participants to understand how museum management can be strategic and sustainable.
By increasing capacity and knowledge in museum management, it is hoped that it can provide the best education and service for the public.
