Universitas Trisakti held an Open Session with a single agenda: the 58th Dies Natalis of Universitas Trisakti on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at D Building, 8th Floor Campus A, Universitas Trisakti. This event was attended by all Top Management from Universitas Trisakti, Trisakti Foundation, and guests. The event was opened by the Dies Natalis activity report presented by the chairman, who is also the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Dr. Ir. A. Hadi Prabowo, MT.
In his report, Dr. Ir. A. Hadi Prabowo talks about the stories behind the meaning of the Dies Natalis theme, ‘Technopreneurship Menuju Green Campus yang Andal.’
“Technopreneurship towards a reliable green campus signifies an emphasis on integrating technology and entrepreneurship to create innovations that are not only advanced but also sustainable. Additionally, there is an awareness of the importance of preparing students to face and leverage technological changes by becoming technology entrepreneurs,” explained Hadi Prabowo.
“Towards a Green Campus emphasizes the University’s commitment to lead in sustainable practices, engaging initiatives that support environmental preservation, demonstrating a focus on environmental education and awareness both within and outside the campus to produce individuals who are environmentally conscious. ‘Reliable’ describes the University’s determination to become an institution that is reliable in technology and sustainability,” he continued.
Hadi Prabowo also mentioned that out of the 15 competitions held during Dies Natalis, there was a participation rate of up to 87 percent from the Universitas Trisakti Academic Community. Following that, the Rector of Universitas Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA, presented the performance report for 2022/2023, followed by welcoming remarks from representatives of the Region III Higher Education Service Institution, Mr. Adi Purnama SE, MM, and the General Chair of the Trisakti Foundation, Ainun Naim Ph.D, MBA.
The Scientific Oration was the highlight of the Universitas Trisakti 58th Anniversary Open Session activities. Armand Wahyudi Hartono, Deputy President Director of PT. Bank Central Asia TBK, served as the orator and titled his scientific oration ‘What is important in life is life itself.’ During his approximately 30-minute speech, Armand shared the enduring journey and struggles of his family that contributed to their current success. He highlighted that he and his family were accustomed to persevering through life’s challenges since childhood, facing pressures during the colonial era, enduring repeated disasters, and navigating through the monetary crisis.
All challenges, particularly those brought about by the changing times, have allowed the two largest companies currently owned by his family, namely Bank Central Asia (BCA) and Djarum, to not only endure but also thrive. Armand also conveyed a special message, especially to the younger generation, urging them not to easily give up, to continue learning, and to be competitive in this highly competitive era.
“In life, what’s crucial is life itself. Make sure not to live in misery; one must enhance their capabilities to a global level to stay competitive. Don’t fear competition because it is very important. Competitors are playmates to mutually enhance competencies. Then, if our lives are good later on, don’t forget to always help others, be it customers, the environment, or society, so that the life around us also improves,” Armand said in concluding his speech.
At the end of the event, Universitas Trisakti presented several awards to both students and faculty members. Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) also contributed CSR awards to the UKM Marching Band and Mini Orchestra as a form of support to one of the most accomplished UKM at Universitas Trisakti.
