Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Trisakti once again hosted its annual event, Fokus (Forum Kursus) 2023. Taking place over two consecutive days on Saturday and Sunday, December 9-10, 2023, at Campus B, Universitas Trisakti, this year’s Fokus felt special as it coincided with the 58th Dies Natalis of Universitas Trisakti. The opening ceremony of Fokus 2023 took place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in the Campus B Auditorium, Universitas Trisakti.

The Vice-Rector IV Universitas Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Drg Tri Erri Astoeti, M.Kes, inaugurated Fokus 2023 by cutting the ribbon at the entrance of the event, in the lobby of Campus B. In his address, Prof. Dr. Drg Tri Erri Astoeti, M.Kes, commended the entire organizing committee of Fokus 2023 for successfully hosting such a vibrant and successful event amidst their busy schedules as lecturers and students, especially given the short preparation time of only four months.

“Congratulations to the Faculty of Dentistry and the entire organizing committee of Fokus 2023. Thank you for your extraordinary commitment. I salute the committee members because, with a very short preparation period, they managed to organize an event as lively as Fokus 2023,” said Prof. Dr. Drg Tri Erri Astoeti, M.Kes.

Invite 15 Keynote Speakers and Attract 750 Participants

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Fokus 2023 Committee, Dr. drg. Elline, Sp. KG SubSp. KR (K), in a separate interview, shared the significance of the event’s theme, ‘Updating Skills And Knowledges In Dentistry Through Applied Technology and Community Services.’ It serves as a reminder for participants, who are doctors and aspiring dentists, to keep up with the latest developments in dental medicine to support clinical success in the era of globalization.

Dr. Elline also revealed that Fokus 2023 successfully attracted more than 750 participants, not only from the Universitas Trisakti community.

“There are a total of 14 speakers, all of whom are Trisakti alumni, plus one from Japan, namely Dr. Masayuki Sano, D.D.S., Ph.D. Additionally, there are 24 hands-on speakers covering 12 topics. Furthermore, 29 dental supply companies with 38 booths and three exhibition tables participated. As of today, 750 participants have registered for the Fokus 2023 seminar, and the number continues to grow. Participants are not only alumni and students but also from outside, indicating that the Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Trisakti is gaining recognition beyond our campus,” explained Dr. drg. Elline, Sp. KG SubSp. KR (K).

In addition to various seminars and hands-on sessions, the second day of Fokus 2023 also featured a social service event titled ‘Emergency Management of Dental Trauma in Adolescents.’ Moreover, on Saturday afternoon, the Dentistry Art Festival (DAF) 2023 was held, showcasing artistic performances such as bands, fashion shows, and traditional and modern dances.
