Universitas Trisakti Career Center in collaboration with Universitas Prasetya Mulya held an Inspiring Business Talk (IB Talk) event at M Building, 12th Floor, Universitas Trisakti on Friday, November 10, 2023. With the theme “Tips & Tricks for Becoming a Successful Entrepreneur and Professional at The Same Time”, this IB Talk invited Elisabeth Revy as a speaker. Elisabeth Revy is an alumnus of Universitas Trisakti who currently works as Department Head of Merchandising at Toys Kingdom and also an entrepreneur, the owner of a Coffee Shop named, Kopi Sobi.

The event opened with a speech from the Head of the Career Center Richy Wijaya W., SE., MM., C.R.A., C.R.P. In his speech, Richy said that the right mindset needs to be adopted if a professional also wants to be an entrepreneur. Because of that, in this IB Talk, Career Center chose to invite one of the most appropriate speakers because she will give all the tips and tricks for living as a professional and entrepreneur at the same time.

Elisabeth Revy as a main speaker, gave so many important messages and insights for all IB Talk participants. As a professional who has 17 years of experience in various big companies like Walt Disney, Mattel, MAP, and Kawan Lama, Elisabeth shared her experiences during her career. Even though she is already successful, Elisabeth who alumnus of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Department of Management, Universitas Trisakti considers herself to still have to prepare for the future by building her own business.

Elisabeth finally chose a coffee business, and now her coffee shop which is named Kopi Sobi already running with the help of her husband and one business partner. Elisabeth thinks, building a business is very important because one day, she will be substituted in professional work with other people. Even though at first, it was difficult to divide the time between business and career, Elisabeth emphasized that she had to make the most of every time, especially for herself and her family.

In the end, Elisabeth Revy reminded us that we must always maintain ourselves professionally with a positive attitude, have good habits, be productive in making the most of our time, be good at working with other people, always be motivated to succeed and force ourselves to do things to the maximum.  

We hope that this Business Talk will provide valuable input for Trisakti University students about the importance of focusing on goals and how to manage their time so they can run a business and profession simultaneously and be successful.
