Involving 780 Participants, the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Trisakti Holds Abdimas 2023 in Nagrak
As part of the 58th Dies Natalis of Universitas Trisakti, the Faculty of Medicine (FK) organized the Abdimas 2023 event on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the Universitas Trisakti Nagrak Campus in Kelurahan Ciangsana, Bogor. Carrying the theme ‘Chase – Community Health Awareness,’ Abdimas 2023 engaged over 780 participants, including alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the local community around Nagrak. Abdimas 2023, a Community Service Activity (PKM), aligns with the University’s Tri Dharma, encompassing Education and Teaching, Research and Development, and Community Service.
The event was attended by notable figures, including the Vice Rector III of Universitas Trisakti, Ir. Yoska Oktaviano, MT., the Director of the Institute for Community Service (LPPM) Prof. Dr. Ir. Astri Rinanti, MT, the Director of the Campus Management Institute, Dr. Ir. Bambang Endro Yuwono, MS, the Head of the General Administration Bureau, Gunawan, ST, MT, the Village Heads of Ciangsana and Nagrak, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr.dr Yenny, Sp.FK, along with all the leaders of Universitas Trisakti Faculty of Medicine.
According to Dr.dr Yenny, Sp.FK, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Trisakti, Abdimas 2023, held for the third time, underscores the Faculty’s commitment not only as an educational institution but also in providing services and research that are implemented in Community Service Activities (PKM). The Faculty specifically involves students from the 2022 batch, aiming to familiarize them early on with community engagement as future doctors.
“This activity is also attended by students with the goal of early exposure. Students are encouraged to participate in community activities from an early stage so that when they professionally engage with the community as doctors, they can already provide optimal services to the public,” explained Dr.dr Yenny, Sp.FK.
The Director of LPPM Universitas Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Ir. Astri Rinanti, MT, expressed the University’s positive reception of the Abdimas 2023 activity and hoped that it would continue in the coming years.
“In this activity, we can see the realization of collaboration between lecturers supported by other academic communities such as students, alumni, media, and local governments. This fulfills the elements of the pentahelix partnership to carry out community service. Universitas Trisakti hopes that this excellent activity will continue, and its benefits will not only be received by the community but also by lecturers conducting PKM, students learning to directly engage with the community, and local governments in creating health programs in the future,” explained Prof. Dr. Ir. Astri Rinanti, MT.
The Abdimas 2023 activity involved approximately 60 to 80 accompanying lecturers, 220 students, and 260 community members around Nagrak. The Faculty of Medicine participated with 10 departments, including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Mental Health, Neurology, Surgery, Microbiology, ENT, Anatomy, Internal Medicine, Pharmacology, and Anesthesia. Among these departments, 13 PKM activities were conducted, encompassing counseling, screening, and free examinations and treatments.
