In order to map the Universitas Trisakti community’s proficiency in the Indonesian Language, the Office of International Affairs, Cooperation and Culture (KUIKK) held an Indonesian Language Proficiency Test seminar and simulation with a theme “Unlocking Potential with UKBI: Towards an Indonesian-Speaking Smart Society” on Tuesday, October 17, 2023

In his remarks, the Director of Universitas Trisakti KUIKK, Ir. Agus Guntoro, M.Sc., Ph.D. said that language could show a person’s intellectuality because, with language, the choice of diction in speaking and writing reflects it. Before officially opening this event, Universitas Trisakti Vice Rector IV, Prof. Dr. Drg. Tri Erri Astoeti, M. Kes. also gave a speech and expressed his gratitude to the participants for their willingness to take part in this event as a form of love for the Indonesian language.

The resource person for this activity came from the Language Development and Development Agency of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdikbudristek RI), Dr. Atikah Solihah, M.Pd. As an Intermediate Widyabasa Expert, Mrs. Atikah explained in detail everything about UKBI and the types of questions responding to Indonesian Language Rules which were considered quite complicated for the examiners. The UKBI Simulation lasted about two hours.

The participants looked very enthusiastic and challenged to get high scores. It is hoped that this activity, can increase the love and proficiency of the Trisakti academic community for the Indonesian language and become the starting point for preparation, training, and UKBI services at Universitas Trisakti for internals or the general public.
