On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the Faculty of Earth and Energy Technology Universitas Trisakti conducted a Training and Simulation of Fire and Earthquake Disasters In Building D, simultaneously forming a Disaster Evacuation Team on each floor, in collaboration with the West Jakarta Fire Department.

Fire is one of the dangerous threats that can result in casualties if appropriate efforts are not made to prevent it. This is the basis for conducting Fire Extinguisher Training and Simulation. To prevent fires and reduce their impact, a sufficient level of knowledge about fire and the use of light fire extinguishing equipment available in the building area are essential.

As the direct supervisor of this event, Vice Dean II Ir Dewi Syavitri, M.Sc., Ph.D., emphasized the importance for everyone to participating and understand this training in order to perform their duties with an open heart and spirit if an undesirable situation occurs.

“Building D is where we work, which we must protect and maintain for our safety,” said Vice Dean I Dr. Suryo Prakoso, S.T., M.T., during the opening and welcoming session.

The training covered topics such as Introduction to Fire Extinguishing Tools and their Use, Characteristics of Fire Sources and Their Control, Standard Operating Procedures for Fire Extinguishment, Fire Risk Analysis, Emergency Response to Fires, and Fire Management. The training had 25 participants, including faculty members and educational staff, who will be designated as the Evacuation and Rescue Team in the event of fire and earthquake disasters within the building. The crucial takeaway was the knowledge and initial handling in the event of a disaster, ensuring the comfort and safety of everyone involved. It is knowledge gained from us, for us, and for the well-being of all.
