Trisakti Annual Medical Practitioner Meeting 2023

The Medical Faculty Universitas Trisakti organized the Trisakti Annual Medical Practitioner Meeting (Trisakti AM:PM) 2023 with the theme “Building Bridges In Emergency Medicine.” The event was held in a hybrid format on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Aula Gallery Roemah Djan in Central Jakarta.

The event commenced with a report from the chairperson of the organizing committee, Dr. Nany Hairunisa, MCHSc. Following that, the conference was officially opened with welcoming remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr.dr. Yenny, Sp.FK. She expressed hope that the event would serve as a platform for generating new ideas, sharing the latest knowledge, and strengthening interdisciplinary involvement in the management of medical emergencies to enhance public health and well-being.

The conference attracted more than 1130 participants, both physically and virtually, from across Indonesia. This annual meeting focused on medical practitioners, involving healthcare professionals working in the field, emergency physicians, paramedics, emergency nurses, and other related professions.

In her address, Dean Yenny highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in responding to medical emergencies. This collaboration could involve various aspects, such as cooperation between emergency physicians, paramedic teams, hospitals, security personnel, or even local authorities to improve response and care for patients in emergency situations.

Keynote speakers and presenters at Trisakti AM:PM 2023 included:

  1. Dr. Sunarto, M.Kes from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, presenting on “Overview Of Emergency Medicine In Indonesia.”
  2. Prof. Dr. Mohd Idzwan bin Zakaria from the University of Malaya, discussing “Trauma System In Malaysia.”
  3. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Yong-Kwang Gene from KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital Singapore, addressing “Pediatric Cardiac Arrest: Role of Emergency Medicine as A Bridge for Pediatric Life Support.”
  4. Dr. Cecilia Padang, PhD, FACR from the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI), providing insights into “Ethics In Daily Practice.”
    The event continued with discussion sessions:

First discussion session:

  1. “Emergency Cardiovascular Treatment” by Dr. Isman Firdaus, Sp.JP(K), FIHA, FESC, FSCAI.
  2. “Neurological Emergencies” by Dr. Ramdinal Aviesena Zairinal, Sp.N.
  3. “Obstetric Emergencies” by Dr. Alamsyah, Sp.OG, Subsp.KFM, KIC.

Second discussion session:

  1. “Emergency Pediatric Healthcare” by Dr. Firda Fairuza, Sp.A.
  2. “Managing Antimicrobial Therapy” by Dr. Ronald Natadidjaja, Sp.PD, Subsp.PTI, FINASIM.

Third discussion session:

  1. “Emergency Treatment in Surgery” by Dr. Dumaria Ketty Siagian, Sp.B, M.kes(Bedah).
  2. “Everyday Emergency Treatment” by Dr. Faye Yowargana, Sp.EM.
  3. “Ethical and Medico-legal Aspects of Emergency Medical Services” by Dr. Budi Suhendar, DFM, Sp.FM(K).
    These discussions were moderated by Dr. Raditya Wratsangka, Sp.O.G, Subsp. Obginsos.

The primary goal of the theme was to foster closer cooperation among various stakeholders to elevate emergency care standards, build strong networks, and respond efficiently to medical situations requiring quick action.
